Orthodontics for Children

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children get a checkup with an orthodontist no later than age 7. Phase I, or early interceptive treatment, is only recommended for patients with moderate to severe problems.

Although only a few orthodontic problems need to be corrected at an early age, our complimentary exam allows Dr. Nguyen to offer advice and guidance as to when the appropriate age to start treatment would be.

Orthodontics for Teens

Most patients begin orthodontic treatment between ages 9 and 16, but this varies depending on each individual. Because teenagers are still growing, the teen years are often the optimal time to correct orthodontic problems and achieve excellent results.

Most orthodontic problems are inherited. Examples of these genetic problems are crowding, too much space between teeth, protruding upper teeth, extra or missing teeth, and some jaw-growth problems.

But whatever the cause, as our patient, we can successfully deliver to you a brighter, straighter smile!
